Blonde Brownies and Shredded Blinds

last night i got home and had a mess to clean. daisy mae (our chi-weenie) had shredded the blinds. she does not normally bother anything in the house....but since she has just had her puppies taken from her at Christmas i am assuming this is the issue. needless to say i was a little aggravated.

i have wanted to make some blonde brownies for a while but have been too lazy to so to take out the frustration of my blinds being shredded i decided to bake.

these are soooo delicious (and yes they came from the toaster oven....hoping to have my new oven installed this weekend!) be prepared to have the urge to eat every single brownie....i won't judge if you do!

(ps excuse the poor photo quality on the ingredient part....it was dark and i was using my tablet.)

 ingredients:
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
3/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

preheat oven to 350 degrees.
combine melted butter and brown sugar. stir until well blended.
add egg and mix well.

stir in dry ingredients then add vanilla and nuts.

spread in buttered 8"x8" pan and bake for 25 minutes.

enjoy!

looks like i have a trip to the blind store in the very near  future.

Thank you for posting this recipe.
I didn't have the nuts to put in it, but it was still really good.

  3. Sharing my pleasant goof today: I make these for my husband all the time because he doesn't like chocolate. I always double the recipe to make then thicker. You just cook them a tad longer. Today I used margarine because I didn't have any butter and the texture was very different. It was like a brown sugar coffee cake, very good! I enjoyed some with my coffee and while we absolutely love the gooey original recipe I'll make this "goof" variation again!

  4. I want to make a 9 x 13 pan? Anyone think it would work to just double the recipe and still bake at 350 for approximately 25 min? I would check them, of course, and bake until done if they need to bake longer.

  5. Made them last night. Yummy! Used 9x13" pan. I doubled the recipe and used margarine. Baked them for 35 minutes. I'm at high altitude so might add an extra T of flour next time. Very chewy!

  6. I have a friend who cannot have dairy. How do you think these brownies would turn out if I used canola oil?? Thanks. Linda

  8. Okay. So I doubled the recipe, switched butter for vegetable oil, and then swirled three large spoonfuls of nutella on the top of this batter in the pan. Its currently in an 8x8 pan at 350*F. I will check on it in about 25 minutes and let you all know how they turned out.

  10. These were good although they tasted salty.I used unsalted butter since the recipe called for salt already, and it was what was in the fridge.I think I’ll double the amount next time so they’ll be thicker.
